This film, directed by Andy Collet, brings together our passion for skiing, snowboarding & travelling with a lot of rewarding encounters with locals talking about environmental issues. And of course, a lot of friendly shared moments !
Written in the Cyrillic script, GORA means « mountain » in Macedonian and « forest » in Bulgarian. But this word is much stronger than just a simple translation. This spiritual word refers to the energy released by nature and is associated to a person who cares about it. An energy which perfectly summarizes this roadtrip across the Balkans with the Picture Family and Val & Tim from Let’s Be Nomads.
This modern nomad couple got the crazy idea to purchase an American school bus to convert it into a moving house & hostel on wheels. Despite the fact that the bus produces CO2, they try to minimize their impact by using a compost toilet that uses no water, collecting energy from the sun with solar panels and being carbon-neutral by donating to a non-profit organization.
Gathering the motivation of a family with strong environmental values and a bunch of riders dedicated to preserving the mountains was the perfect opportunity to look closer at some environmental issues in the Balkans and discover amazing spots to ride.
