The Wing Air DD (Direct Drive) is the latest creation out of the KT Surfing R&D department. The DD sits alongside the original Wing Air, featuring hard handles and strengthened construction of the Leading Edge (LE) and Strut.

I have the 4.0 DD. Great wing! Very comfortable handles, quality construction and top performance.

Saw some fantastic riders with these (or maybe the previous model) in Tarifa today, I want to try one if it improves my skills 😃.

It seems very much at F ONE wings except the rigid handles. Is it product in thé same asian factory ?
They’re all made in the same factories. They just come out in different bags/logos.
@BurtReynoldstash Quite different shape from the FOne, might be the same factory not sure it is, but not only logos are different materials of the leading edge are not exactly the same and quite a different panel design layout.
Here's head KT Wing Designer Jason Diffin's personal response - "Our sail/mast/hardware/wing factory - I’ve been working with the same crew for more than 20 years. The level of skill and craftsmanship that goes in to the products is really really high. Yes, they produce for other brands, but that is how their business model works. They have to diversify to build a stable and sustainable business. Also, there are firewalls up between the brands in the factory- all brands have proprietary info specific to their products that the factory does not share. There are low ball factories out there, but that’s not who we work with".

I had last year's KT Wing Air quiver and have had a bunch of sessions on the 2023 DD wings. I loved last year's wings but the DD versions are a solid improvement. Absolutely stoked with them. Amazing job by JD and the test team!

Jason, I used teh last in year in Tarifa (rental)- really great. Will there be a new Gen soon? Lighter material, more tension, ergonomic handles or single handle?
